About AI Video to Video API

VidMage's AI Video to Video API is a video transformation interface with separate routes for prompt-based editing and anime conversion. Each route accepts its own media inputs and settings. The output is a processed video that can be reviewed alongside the source sequence. To try restyling a clip in your browser, open VidMage's Video to Video.

AI Video to Video API capabilities

Prompt-guided transformation
Write a custom transformation prompt and supply optional video, image, or audio references through the generic endpoint.
Anime-style conversion
Send a video and an animeStyle instruction to the dedicated route for an anime-oriented video treatment.
Output configuration
Choose duration and resolution for either route, with an additional ratio setting on the generic transformation endpoint.

What you can build

Anime treatments for music videos

Give performance footage an anime direction through the dedicated conversion route. The source clip and style brief define the request, while a paired player helps the music team examine faces and movement before choosing footage for the edit.

Restyling campaign footage

A rainy neon setting can take a campaign scene in a different visual direction. Combine the clip, references, and transformation prompt to explore that treatment, keeping alternate versions together for the agency's creative review.

Animation concepts from rehearsals

Rehearsal footage already contains the scene's action. An anime conversion brief provides a way to explore its animated treatment, giving filmmakers moving material for a pitch reel or animatic alongside the original performance.

How to use AI Video to Video API

  1. Get an API key

Create a key in the Developer Console and store it on your server. Use it in the Authorization: Bearer header.

  2. Prepare and submit your inputs

Set up your inputs in the Playground, then copy the matching API request. Send it from your server with a unique Idempotency-Key.

  3. Track the task

Save the returned taskId and query the same operation until it completes. Keep that identifier if your app stops waiting.

  4. Retrieve the result

Read videoUrl from the completed task. Preview the result in your app and save a copy to your own storage for later use.

Input tips
Use the selected route fields
Anime conversion requires videoUrl and animeStyle. It does not accept the generic route's prompt, ratio, imageUrls, or audioUrl fields, so separate the two forms.
Explain optional references
The generic endpoint requires prompt and accepts up to three image references. Keep each media reference tied to a stated role in the editing brief.

Input requirementsUpload local files

Task fields and results

Keep the task identifier with its original request and Idempotency-Key. Query the same capability until it completes, then read the documented result field.

Errors, retries and limits

Retry transport failures with the same idempotency key only when the original submission may not have reached the server. For a confirmed task, keep querying the original task instead of submitting a duplicate.

FAQs

Are failed or timed-out requests charged?

A client timeout is not a confirmed task failure. Confirmed failures are automatically refunded only when the refund outcome is certain. Unknown charges or refunds remain pending reconciliation.

Failure and refund handling ↗
How long should my app wait for a result?

The checked contract does not establish a fixed completion time. Choose a local wait budget for your app; it is not an API completion deadline.

Polling and wait budgets ↗
What are the rate and concurrency limits?

Request-rate limits control how often you can call the API; concurrency limits control simultaneous work. The documentation ties both to the stable API key but does not publish numeric limits for this operation. Confirm account limits before planning parallel jobs.

Rate-limit recovery ↗
Can I receive results through a webhook?

The checked request contract documents status queries and does not list a webhook or callback field for these routes. Check the current authenticated OpenAPI contract before making a callback part of your integration.
