What makes VidMage's AI Video APIs stand out

Build around the shot you need. Access multiple video models, guide scenes with reference media, and add editing steps through the same VidMage API key.

Compare video models with one API key

Access Seedance, Kling, Veo, and other video models through one key and a shared task workflow. Model settings differ: Veo 3.1 lists 4, 6, and 8 seconds, while Kling 3.0 lists 3 through 15. Check each mode's accepted duration, resolution, framing, and combination rules before building your selectors.

Guide scenes with more than a prompt

Start with text for a written brief or an image for a starting frame. Seedance 2.5's multimodal mode also accepts image, video, and audio references. Reference formats, counts, and duration limits depend on the selected mode. For motion transfer, the separate Motion Control API takes a character image and driving video.

Plan several shots in one request

Kling 3.0 exposes multiShot, a shotType choice, and up to six entries in multiPrompt. Use these controls to describe a sequence and give your app a structured way to collect shot instructions.

Add editing after generation

Bring existing or generated clips into dedicated APIs for subtitles, background removal, and upscaling. Video Upscaler accepts a scale of 2 or 4. Track each step as its own task, then retrieve the videoUrl for your application's next step.

FAQs

Answers for developers building with AI Video APIs.

What do I need to make my first video API request?

Use an active VidMage subscription and an API key from the Developer Console. Keep the key on your server. Choose a model and input mode, prepare any media uploads, and submit the request from that API's example. Generation uses your account credits.

Can I generate video with audio?

Some video APIs expose an audio control. Seedance 2.5, Kling 3.0, and Veo 3.1 include sound in their public requests. Check the selected input mode and set it explicitly where supported. Audio settings and any additional credit cost vary by model.

How do I show progress and retrieve the finished video?

Video generation runs asynchronously. Save the task ID, query the same capability, and display its returned task state until completion. The documented flow uses polling; no webhook contract or generation-time guarantee is published in these guides.

What should I do if a video submission times out?

Check recent tasks to recover the original job before submitting again. Save the capability, task ID, and original idempotency key. Reuse that key only for a transport retry of the same submission.

How can I control video generation costs?

Estimate credits with the same model, duration, resolution, media, and audio settings you intend to submit. MCP's model and capability estimators consume no credits. Website and API tasks share your balance, so record the completed task's usage instead of inferring its cost from balance changes.

Can I run many video jobs at once in production?

Rate and concurrency limits apply to your API key, but numeric quotas are not published in these guides. Honor Retry-After on 429 responses and confirm your capacity needs with support. The API is currently in beta for testing and experimentation; production use is not yet recommended.

Do failed or timed-out video requests still use credits?

A local timeout does not cancel a video task or establish its final charge. Check the original job's billing record. Confirmed failures are automatically refunded only when the refund outcome is certain. Unknown billing or refund outcomes need reconciliation before you submit another request.
